CREATING AN ACCOUNT
While you don’t have to create an account to use Invictus, it is recommended. Without an account you will miss out on some key features, such as printing flash sheets, sending flash sheets by email, and accessing all of your notes and bookmarks across all of your devices.
To set up your free Invictus account, simply tap “Log In or Create an Account” on the app launch screen, or tap the User Account Icon anytime the app is in use. From the Log In screen, tap “Create Account,” and choose a username and password.
To log in to Invictus on all your devices, simply enter your user email and password and press “Restore Purchases” to download and access your previously purchased books.
Preview/Purchase Books
By tapping the cover of a book, you will be able to preview select pages from the book, along with a brief description of the artists and work you can expect to see.
Below the description, you will find the price of the book and an option to purchase. Tap the “BUY” icon at the bottom of the description to make an in-app purchase through the credit card associated with your iTunes account, and follow the prompts to complete your purchase.
Once a book is purchased, it will appear on your shelf on the home screen.
Tools
By tapping a book on your shelf, it will open for you to see a tiled thumbnail view of the individual pages or flash sheets. Tap an individual thumbnail to view the full page.
When viewing a full page you will be able to zoom in on the image to isolate a certain aspect of the piece, add the page as a bookmark, make a searchable notation for future reference, print or email the image, and even lock the screen to use your iOS device as a lightbox.
Search
Every flash sheet is preloaded with multiple searchable tags relating to the art on each page (i.e. Dagger, Panther, Devil). Tap the Search Button and type your search criteria to find the perfect image for your tattoo. See notes section for more information about adding custom searchable notations.
Adding bookmarks
When you find a piece that you want to use, tap the Context Menu button and “+ Bookmark” to add it to your collection of bookmarks. You can view and manage all of your bookmarks by tapping the Bookmark Button. When you no longer need a bookmarked page, tap the (-) under the image to remove it from your bookmarks.
Adding Notes
Custom notes are one of our favorite aspects of this app. You can add client names to keep all of the inspiration for one piece together, or add other custom notations to organize your flash the way that works best for you.
There are two ways to add searchable notes to your library.
1 – Tap the Info Button and “add notes.”
2 - Tap the Context Menu button and select notes.
You can save multiple notes to a page of flash at a time, just tap enter between each note to assign them as separate tags.
Printing An Image
You can print high-resolution copies of any sheet via AirPrint to any capable printer right from the app. Tap the Context Menu button, select print and then assign the printer you want it to go to.
Emailing an Image
Tap the Context Menu button and select email to send a copy of the page to the email address associated with your iTunes account.
Using Your Device As a Lightbox
Sketch a design using your iPhone or iPad as lightbox with the screen lock tool. First, make sure the brightness setting on your device is turned up enough to see the image through your tracing paper. Rotate and zoom on a page until you isolate the image you need. Tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the tool bar, and select the [screen lock] button. Then, place your paper over the screen and start tracing. You can rotate the device as you draw, and the image will remain in the same position. Simply tap the lock button again when you are finished to unlock the page.
Restoring Purchases
If you get a new device, or deleted and re-downloaded the app, none of your books will be saved within the app. To restore your previously purchased books, simply tap the User Account button, login and select “Restore Purchases.” All of your purchased books will now appear back on your shelf.
